Hello everyone,

This is Wintress Patrice, your certified NLP Life Coach and the founder of IAWP Life Coaching, LLC. Today, Iā€™d like to share with you a very personal journey about navigating through friendships, understanding the authenticity of relationships, and ultimately, learning to love oneself.

The Journey

Friendships are often like mirrors reflecting our lives back to us. They can bring joy, support, laughter, and growth. However, there are times when these reflections are skewed. We encounter people who appear real, act good, but are in essence, disguises of authenticity. People who treat you like the sun one day and the next, behave as though you’re a speck of dust.

In my personal journey, I encountered such “friends”. It was a painful realization and parting ways was difficult, yet it was a critical step towards my growth.

The Awakening

The first step was acknowledging that I deserved better. Just like a plant needs sunlight and water to thrive, our souls need genuine love and respect to blossom. I realized that I had been neglecting my needs, compromising my happiness for friendships that brought more distress than joy.

What followed this realization was a powerful act of self-love. I chose to distance myself from these draining relationships. Instead, I decided to invest that energy into nurturing my own spirit.

The Power of Self-Love and Self-Care

Self-love is an extraordinary power. It is about accepting and appreciating ourselves, regardless of our flaws and past mistakes. It’s about setting healthy boundaries and recognizing that our emotional well-being matters.

With self-love, I started seeing myself differently. I became more confident, more resilient, and more content. I realized that I was enough, and I did not need approval or validation from anyone else.

Turning Self-Love into Action

To anyone out there going through a similar struggle, here are some ways you can leverage your superpowers of self-love and self-care:

  1. Setting Boundaries: It’s perfectly okay to say no when you need to. You do not owe anyone an explanation for taking care of yourself.
  2. Nurture Your Spirit: Do things that make you happy and fulfilled. It could be a hobby, meditation, or simply a quiet walk in the park.
  3. Positive Affirmations: Remind yourself every day about your worth. Tell yourself, “I am enough. I am loved. I deserve respect and kindness.”
  4. Practice Gratitude: Appreciating what you have can open doors to positivity and happiness.
  5. Seek Support: Reach out to supportive people in your life. Remember, it’s okay to ask for help.

Remember, as you journey through life, you’ll come across all sorts of people. Some will uplift you, some will challenge you, and some might even let you down. However, the one constant through it all should be the love you have for yourself.

If you are struggling with this issue, remember that I am here for you. You are not alone. You are deserving of love and happiness, and you are fully capable of attaining it.

Love and Light,

Wintress Patrice, Your Certified NLP Life Coach xoxo
